When designing a Prevention Plan we should consider:
The type of home: detached, semi-detached houses, apartment blocks, etc. The easier it is for the burglar to act without being seen or heard, the greater security measures we should install in our home and business.
Depending on your budget, take as many deterrent measures as possible (doors, iron bars, alarms, etc).
Make sure that these measures are reliable (not all products available respond in the same way against attack. Think you're investing in safety and security, “time” is the important factor when chosing the right security elements and their resistance grade against attack. The more resistant, the less probability of success for the intruder).
To make the right decision we must demand the product technical information and Certification.
We all know that alarms alert when someone wants to enter. Doors are a physical barrier to prevent anybody entering a home but when theft happens the insurance compensates for the stolen contents.
Unfortunately there is no absolute fool proof security device or method. But there are ways to make the intruders entrance very difficult and persuade them to leave for fear of being discovered.
