It is a latch system that allows partial opening of the door. It is operated from inside and placed in the frame to the height of the chain so that when you open the door from both outside or inside allows a limited opening .

Engaged Turning or sliding		Engaged It allows partial door opening		Disengaged It allows total door opening

The Restrain latch is installed in Gold range , in -9 model and Start range , in -3R model.
